AMDO formalises collaboration with ADCH

We’re delighted to announce that AMDO and ADCH (Association of Dogs and Cats Homes) have formalised their strong and productive partnership through joining each other’s membership schemes.

ADCH and AMDO have worked increasingly closely in recent years, recognising the importance of accurate, responsible microchipping and data management in animal welfare and rescue. This mutual membership reflects a shared commitment to improving outcomes for animals by promoting best practice in microchip registration, compliance, and traceability.

As the trade body for the UK’s microchip databases, AMDO plays a key role in supporting the enforcement of microchipping legislation and through closer alignment with ADCH hopes to ensure that rescue centres, rehoming organisations, and local authorities have access to clear guidance and consistent processes.

ADCH is a voluntary membership organisation for dog and cat rescue and rehoming charities. ADCH promotes the safeguarding of welfare standards for dogs and cats needing new homes and supports those working and volunteering in the sector.

Together, we hope to tackle key challenges in the sector – from duplicate registrations and ensuring contact details are up to date, to the complexities of dealing with microchipped pets under domestic abuse temporary care schemes.

Both organisations view this as a positive step forward in ensuring that animals have the best chance of being reunited with their families, or responsibly rehomed, through high standards and strong partnerships.
