Further collaboration within the animal welfare sector as AMDO and PEIA (Pet & Equine Insurance Association) have joined each other’s membership schemes.
As the trade body for the UK’s microchip databases, AMDO plays a key role in supporting the enforcement of microchipping legislation and through closer collaboration with PEIA hopes to improve outcomes for pet keepers.
Together, we’ll look at how insurers can encourage updating of microchip details and steps the pet insurance sector could take to use the microchip ID more effectively e.g. to improve lost-and-found outcomes, strengthen fraud controls, and enable more joined-up working across the animal welfare sector.
PEIA is driven by insurers, MGAs, brokers, and service providers who understand the need for a united, credible voice in pet and equine insurance, taking action to tackle rising costs, meet Consumer Duty and fair value standards, and safeguard the future of insurance products – supporting policyholders, protecting animals, and strengthening the professionals who care for them.
To kick things off, AMDO will lead a discussion at the PEIA members forum on 12 February 2026.
