AMDO conference 2026

This year we’ll be looking at where we’re going against a backdrop of a new animal welfare strategy from the government, expected changes to microchipping legislation and database governance, and an imminent industry-led single point of search solution.

AMDO conferences create a space and a forum for veterinary professionals, animal rescues, animal wardens etc. to:

  • Stay abreast of industry changes for pet microchip databases in the UK
  • Keep up to date on legislation
  • Understand what they can expect from AMDO member databases’ best practice.

We’re still finalising the exact running order for our agenda, but expect:

  • An update from Defra on new developments and the animal welfare strategy
  • The latest on the single point of search to streamline pet reunification
  • Learn about the challenges of changes affecting pet travel legislation and the import of animals bill
  • A look at personal wellbeing and resilience in the animal welfare sector
  • Insights to organisations working with assistance dogs

There’s plenty of time built in for Q&A on the sessions as well as opportunities to put your questions to our database panel.

The conference will take place on 23 June 2026. Early bird tickets are only £5 if you buy before 31 March 2026 and £10 from 1 May 2026.
